The Bloomingdale Police Department in conjunction with Bloomingdale Board of Education, recognizes that the presence of a police officer can deter many forms of criminal behavior in schools. Furthermore, the assignment of a school resource officer in our schools enhances school safety and security as well as facilitates the handling of juvenile delinquency complaints. Above all, School Resource Officer programs create an opportunity for specially trained officers to positively interact with children. 

Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:14-146.10, Special Law Enforcement Officers Class III are permitted to provide security and serve in the role of School Resource Officer when schools are in session or occupied by staff members.
